Ordinary Diploma in Banking Practice and Supervision
The Bank of Tanzania has registered its Training Institute with the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) with registration number REG/BTP/116 to offer Ordinary Diploma in Banking Practice and Supervision programme. The objective being to strengthen the role of the Institute to effectively support the achievement of the Bank’s Vision and Mission in a broader sense. Therefore, the Institute intends to strengthen and leverage the supervisory role of the Bank of Tanzania beyond the legal and regulatory compliance aspects and addressing unethical and unprofessional practices in the financial sector.
The programme is competence-based intending to build professionals from lower stage of banking career, where an appropriate culture founded in integrity, honesty and professionalism can be moulded. The programme is targeted to address the training needs of staff of financial institutions and individuals who aspire to work in the financial sector.
In line with the above stated objective, the Principal of the Institute is now cordially inviting suitable applicants to apply for Ordinary Diploma in Banking Practice and Supervision starting in academic year 2020/2021.
Ordinary Diploma in Banking Practice and Supervision (ODBPS) will be undertaken in two years:
- First Year: Technician Certificate in Banking Practice and Supervision (NTA Level 5)
- Second Year: Ordinary Diploma in Banking Practice and Supervision (NTA Level 6)
- Possession of the National Technical Award (NTA) Level 4 in Banking; from institutions recognized by NACTE; or
- Possession of at least one (1) principal pass and one (1) subsidiary pass in any subject in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) and passes in Mathematics and English Language in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
COMMENCEMENT OF THE PROGRAMME
The programme is scheduled to start in November 2020.
