Training on Stress Testing for banking institutions

INTRODUCTION
Among the major responsibilities of the Bank of Tanzania is to supervise
banking institutions to ensure soundness and stability of the financial system
that contributes to the growth of the national economy. Stress testing is a
critical tool used by banking institutions as part of their internal risk
management and capital planning. Stress testing also is a key component
of the supervisory assessment process that assists supervisors in identifying
vulnerabilities and evaluation of banking institutions’ capital adequacy.
Bank of Tanzania, in fulfilling its regulatory and supervisory roles, conducts
quarterly stress testing of the banking sector. The Bank, when conducting
stress testing focuses on the key risks, which are credit, market and liquidity.
The results of stress testing are used to cause certain directives to banking
institutions, which have failed the stress test. In this regard, the Bank of
Tanzania Training Institute, in collaboration with a professional from the
banking sector, has organized the training on Stress Testing for banking
institutions.

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
This course is aimed at enhancing skills to staff of banking institutions in doing
stress testing. Also, to engage senior management of banking institutions to
appreciate any supervisory action, which might be prescribed by the Bank
following the results of the stress testing.

TARGET GROUP
Senior and Middle level officers in the banking institutions who are in
compliance, finance, credit, audit, treasury and risk management, etc.

1 week: From 01st to 05th March 2021

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Since this is a hands-on training, each participant is required bring his /her own laptop. The Bank of Tanzania will be obliged to provide connectivity.
RESOURCE PERSONS
Bank of Tanzania Training Institute and Professional from the Financial Sector.

VENUE
Bank of Tanzania Zanzibar Branch.

COURSE FEES AND MODE OF PAYMENT
Fee for each participant is TZS 1.0 million or USD 500 for non-residents covering tuition, course materials, lunch and mid-session refreshments. Participants will be responsible for their travel costs and upkeep. Please make your fees payment using one of the following:
